Being financially secure is a universal dream that is often associated with phrases like "chasing money" and requires one to be a "go-getter."  While these are good mindsets, the one thing wrong with them is that since they only benefit the go-getter, the amount of money that can be made is limited.  This is one of the reasons why chasing money becomes a never-ending ordeal that leads to the same results year after year for so many people.  Because of this, we'd like to provide an alternative approach. As simple as it sounds, begin with being of service to others.  Money isn't something that you chase, it's something that you attract and you attract money by becoming an attractive person.  So what does this mean? You become attractive by solving problems, adding value and being consistent.  When you do this, money will chase you.  Keep reading to get the breakdown and you'll never have to chase it again.

Solve Problems

As long as people have problems there will always be opportunities to help them.  Just to be clear, such problems don’t need to be life threatening or life changing, nor do you have to come up with a cure for the latest wide-spread virus.  By ‘solving problems’ we mean things like helping someone pass the time, guiding them as they contemplate an important decision or just being a sounding board.  After all, you never know what state of mind someone is in, and what may be insignificant to you may mean the world to your caller.  Being aware of this will help keep you focused on them, which will in turn increase your chances of them choosing to spend their money with you when they need more help.

Add Value

When people think of adding value, they usually tend to think of adding value to their customers, but in reality, the first place you want to add value to is yourself.  This begins with knowing who you are as an advisor and as a business person.  Your profile is a great place to start.  When people see that you take what you do seriously, they take what you do seriously.  When people see that you put time and effort into yourself, they will want to put the same into you.  Quality photos and a vivid description about what can be expected when they call is beneficial to both you as the advisor and to those considering diaing your extension .

Be Consistent

It's been said that consistency is the key to success and the most successful people we know of today are proof that this is an absolute fact. Imagine if Google's search engine only worked part of the time or if Instagram didn't display your feed the right way, everyday, all day.  The same consistency can be seen in sports, the food industry (i.e., McDonalds tastes the same everywhere you go), and should be a part of your business as well. As end users and consumers, we love consistency. So when someone sees your call button on but you don’t answer, you are indirectly telling the caller that you are not consistent, therefore, not reliable.  More importantly, you not only missed a call but you missed out on making money and a connection!  On the contrary, if you answer the call every time, it will be impossible for you NOT to make money.

The bottom line is, others can chase money all they want but if you do three simple things—solve problems, add value and be consistent—the money will chase YOU.
